Super Eagles' manager, Stephen Keshi has said there will not be an excuse for not qualifying for the knock-out stage of the ongoing Africa Cup Nations in South Africa.

Keshi said the team may have been hard done by some calls from officiating officials but they should learn to finish games well and with wide margins before such calls are made.

"We should win our matches before bad calls are made so that those who know next to nothing about football will not become our overnight technical advisers," he said.

The former Nigerian defender restated his confidence in the abilities of his 23-man squad to do Nigeria proud at the championship adding that the Eagles have a rich tradition in the Africa Cup Nations that must be sustained and improved upon by the present squad.

On the news making the rounds that he is at loggerheads with the NFF and even threatened to resign his appointment, Keshi said there was nothing like that otherwise he will still not be in camp with the team.

"Maybe some people just want to create sensation in the media because the team has not started winning games but the same people will sing our praises when we hit our rhythm," he said.

Eagles will face the Walyan Antelopes of Ethiopia on Tuesday in a make or mar last Group C game in Rustenburg, a win will see Eagles through to the last eight of the biennial football showpiece
