ARMED FORCES REMEMBRANCE DAY: IMO GOVERNOR FETES NIGERIA MILITARY FOR UNITY OF NIG | |||||||||||||||||||

Imo State Governor, Owelle Anayo Rochas Okorocha has hailed Nigeria Military for their gallantry and patriotism in ensuring that Nigeria remains one indivisible great nation. Speaking through his deputy, Prince Eze Madumere, he observed that the present situation in the country calls for worry since the country has consistently been enveloped in darkness for the past six years because of insurgency. While decrying the undignified manner Nigerians are been murdered, he regretted the latest Baga massacre of about 2000 Nigerians, unsolved abducted Chibok girls mantra and other painful killings. He also reminded his audience that the faith and last hope of the people still lies with the gallant and patriotic effort of the men of Nigerian Military. Speaking further, Prince Madumere charged the Nigeria Military to remain courageous and continue their fight against insurgency as he believes victory will definitely be theirs. He averred that the people owe Nigerian soldiers a debt of gratitude for their sacrifice, patriotism and fighting for the unity and freedom of the people. He therefore made a clarion call on well meaning Nigerians to contribute in whatever appreciable way they can to ameliorate the challenges being faced by the families of the fallen heroes so as to make life easier to them. He also called for encouragement and support Nigerian Soldiers who are at war front in cold, hot whether for the safety, security, unity and progressive Nigeria. He assured Nigerian Army that Imo State government will continue to try her best to ensure it contributes her quota to help. He eulogized them for their effort in concert with other security agents for the peace being enjoyed in Imo State under Rescue Mission government. Earlier during the event, the Imo State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hon. Mrs. Love Nma Onyechere handed over a donation of N 1 million made by Imo State Governor, Owelle Anayo Rochas Okorocha to the Widows of the Fallen Heroes and Nigerian Legion, which each group received N500, 000 respectively.
