Lagos Corpers Sensitize Secondary School Students On Malaria
The Apex group consisting of seven youth çorps members among those trained by Fifthgear plus through the marketplace readiness programme under the leadership of Mr. Niyi Adesanya, carried out a project tagged “Roll back malaria” at Agidingbi senior secondary school.
The project was an awareness and sensitization project centered on malaria, causes, symptoms and prevention strategies. In attendance were the school principal of Agidingbi senior secondary school in person of Mr. Bakare O.T, Vice principals, subject teachers, about 150 students and delegates from Shonelinks .
In his speech, the principal of the school Mr, Bakare applauded the courage of the corps members to undertake such a community development service especially in his school and therefore challenged the students to be good ambassadors of the school and be willing to undertake humanitarian services.
The students expressed their gratitude for the programme and the gifts provided by corps members.
In her vote of thanks, the leader of the group, Miss Anugwo Jennifer, thanked Mr. Niyi Adesanya for the marketplace readiness programme that equipped the corps members intellectually to carry out the project. She equally thanked all those who helped the group in one way or the other. The programme also witnessed distribution of items that included mosquito nets, insecticides and IED materials to students and teachers.
