HARVARD MEMORANDUM OF DECEIT

Dear Sir,
HARVARD MEMORANDUM OF DECEIT
One would not know why Governor Oshiomhole of Edo State had to come out openly to counter his colleagues on the ?Harvardgate? issue. He directly revealed that he neither signed any MoU with Harvard University nor any of his colleagues discussed with him that the Governors? forum had anything to do with capacity building lecture allegedly billed for Harvard University under the MoU..

He recalled that he had a personal dinner with someone of the Harvard University during their (his) governors? last trip to USA but that was not for anything related to the ?MoU? purported to have been signed with the Harvard on their behalf. Oshiomhole was quoted in the media as saying ?there is nothing I would learn from Harvard University towards making me govern Edo State better?, adding that he had during his position as the President of NLC undergone a six-week senior executive programme at the same University and that he is also an alumnus of the prestigious National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru. Could this be a case of guilt?

Oshiomhole?s position ran counter to that of his Bauchi State counterpart and co-traveler to USA, Alhaji Isa Yuguda, who posited his support for the MoU in question. One does not know who is telling the truth between the two. Nevertheless, Nigerians have heaved a sigh of relief understanding that the project has hit the brick wall. Some money that would have been wasted of tax-payers? fund have thus been saved.
