Huhuonline.com can disclose that the excitement and wild condemnation which followed the alleged assassination of Olaitan Oyerinde, Principal Private Secretary to Edo state Governor Adams Oshiomhole, may have taken a new twist, as the State

Security Service (SSS), Wednesday, paraded six armed robbers who claimed they killed Oyerinde.

Deputy Director, Public Relations of the SSS, Marilyn Ogar, confirmed that, 'investigation revealed that careless statements made by Ali Ihade, the security guard of Comrade Oyerinde, at various times about his master's position in government, attracted the attention of the prime suspect, Mohammed Ibrahim Abdullahi, who consequently hatched a robbery operation'.

The suspects who were paraded at the SSS headquarters in Abuja, after allegedly claiming to have committed the heinous crime are Mohammed Ibrahim Abdullahi, Raymond Onajite Origbo, Chikezie Edeh, Saidu Yakubu (a.k.a Imam), Sani Abdullahi Abubakar and Hassan Bashiru.

According to Ogar, the suspects had confessed to killing Oyerinde because they suspected that he made an attempt to use a weapon on them.

'On the day of the robbery, Abdullahi specifically instructed other gang members to tie up Ihade before they entered Comrade Oyerinde's residence, so that Ihade will not see his face.

'According to the robbery gang, Comrade Oyerinde was shot and killed by the prime suspect, Mohammed Ibrahim Abdullahi, when he ran into his bedroom and attempted to go underneath his bed. Abdullahi said he believed Comrade Oyerinde was reaching out for a gun under the bed and therefore shot him.'

Various items recovered from the suspects include four blackberry phones, one ipad, two galaxy pads, one laptop, a wedding ring and unspecified sum of money belonging to Adeyinka Oletubo, brother-in-law to the late Comrade Oyerinde.

One of the suspects on interview said, 'Raymond na im first shut am, as e run de go inside bedroom, I come think say him wan carry gun, na him make i come shut am one time.'
