Business mogul, Alhaji Aliko Dangote has denied being detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over the alleged AP share prices manipulation but confirmed he was interrogated by the anti-graft agency.

Dangote in a chat with reporters at the National Assembly said “I was questioned by the Economic and financial Crimes commission (EFCC) on Tuesday but I was not detained as reported in some papers”.

Continuing, he said: “You have to know that I have been in business for 31 years and I have been taught how to respect constituted authority and that is why I have to show up this morning despite my having a running stomach, this is to show you the respect I have for the committee”

He further added that it was “normal- any person can be detained. And I am not above any constituted authority. I am a common citizen as you. Even yourself if you go now and make a complaint against me, I would be invited to come and say my own part.”
