Southwest PDP raises finance committee

Desirous of getting adequate funding for its activities, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Southwest has raised a Finance and Funding Committee.

Zonal Publicity Secretary of the party, Hon. Kayode Babade said in a statement issued today that setting up of the committee was among the decision reached during the party's caucus meeting in Abeokuta last Sunday.

The Committee headed by the Minister of State for Defence, Erelu Olusola Obada has former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Chief Femi Pedro as Vice Chairman.

Apart from Erelu Obada, who is the committee chairman, all serving ministers from the Southwest zone are members of the committee.

They are; Mrs. Omobola Johnson (Communications Technology), Mr. Olugbenga Ashiru (Foreign Affairs), Dr. Akinwumi Adesina (Agriculture), Navy Capt. Caleb Olubolade (rtd) (Police Affairs), Hon. Olusegun Aganga (Trade and Investment) and Oloye lajumoke Akinjide (FCT minister of State).

Other members of the committee are; former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Chief (Mrs) Biodun Olujimi, Special Adviser to the president on Amnesty Programme, Hon. Kingsley Kuku, former Speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Titi Oseni Alhaji Maurufu Akinwande, Chairman of the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA), Engr. Jide Adeniji, former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adejare Bello, PDP Zonal Treasurer, Lanre Orimoloye, Zonal Auditor, Alhaji Razak Adekola and Zonal Financial Secretary, Chief Ireti Oniyide, who is also the committee secretary.
