Members of the Anyene family comprising of Barr Onyeka Anyene, his wife Maimuna Anyene and their four children who were involved in the ill fated Dana air crash in Lagos will be buried on July, 13, LEADERSHIP can authoritatively report.

A source close to the deceased family told our correspondent that the family agreed on the date in conjunction with the elders of Ndiowu community of Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State where the erudite lawyer hailed from.

It was gathered that Anyene's mother-in-law and his house help who were both from Plateau State and  involved in the crash would be taken there for burial, but Anyene, his wife and four kids who were all involved in the crash are expected to be brought back for burial on July 13.

A neighbour of late Anyenes, Mrs Edna Ndukwe told our correspondent on enquiry that Barr. Anyene was a very prominent member of the community who each time he was home bought a gift for everyone.

'He took his kids who were in the country for the first time to see his in-laws in Jos and was back to Lagos with the hope of also bringing the children to our village as it is the first time the children were in Nigeria as they are based abroad, before the crash killed them.'

It would be recalled that the Anyene family incurred the greatest loss in the Dana air crash where a family of eight was wiped out. Students of most of the schools in Orumba North, where Anyene had distributed educational materials each time he came home are expected to partake in his burial.
