NACONS APPLAUD THE DECISION TO RESTORE JUSTICE AYO SALAMI

By ABDULSALAM ABDULFATAH

How correct is it to opine that Nigeria Judiciary is occasionally reliable? It is a common saying in the legal parlance that “Justice must not only be done but also be seen to have being done” the judiciary and other related bodies are uncover and what ever they do we (the masses) see. When their emotion and interest override the principle of rule of law, equity and justice, not hidden it is to the common man, as all the pranks been done by the NJC against Justice Ayo Isa Salami are visible like star and irritating like “bacterial host”, nevertheless, we are relieved with the new down.

The Nigerians students use this medium to applaud the development that led to the restoration of Justice Ayo Isa Salam as the president Court of Appeal. We celebrate this development as it would have been sorrowful to millions of Nigerian to see with our eyes, in a country we jointly own, and injustice taking over the country. We would have been so dejected, if a man could be ridiculed all because he stood for the truth, justice and the rules of law.

Our call echoes to the some member of NJC and the A. G Federation and the politicians to desist from dragging the judiciary into mud, such a scenario is a destruction of a pillar of cherished structure call Nigeria. Unfortunate it is, as the office of A.G Federation has always use it constitutional power to save criminal of high caliber from being prosecuted. The report of Hon. Faruk Lawal led Ad-Hov committee on the Utilization of Fuel Subsidy is current, as the spirit of the constitution would expect the A.G Federation to work activity on the prosecution of the alleged corrupt personalities involved in the scam, just like the drama acted by Aoandoakha when he protected and prevented the prosecution of Chief James Ibori. All these gimmicks are tantamount to destruction of democracy and the aftermath effect would be a bad one.

The politicians should seize their devilish intervention in the matter of judiciary as regard Justice Isa Ayo Salami. Judiciary is a sacred island and must not be polluted by the politicians who can sell Nigeria to protect their interest. After the country is infected with BOKO HARAM by the same politicians, must you bring down Nigeria because you want to rule for ever? The best and correct thing to do for the president Jonathan is to sign the noble decision of NJC and his name would be written in Good side of history.

Big thanks go to all Nigerians, Non-Nigerians, civil society organizations, labour, and NBA for standing by the side of the truth and Justice. It our credence, the truth will always prevails.
