No, Not A Day Student

By Daily Graphic

Dear Auntie Betty,

I am a boy of 17 and in JHS Two. Though I didn’t start school early, I am determined to reach great heights in my education.

I will write the BECE and enter a senior high school. I told my mum that I would like to choose a boarding school but she did not agree. I am confused as to what to do.

Isaac, Agona Swedru.

Dear Isaac,

Have you found out from your mum why she does not want you to attend a boarding school?

She may have good reasons for her decision. It could be that she cannot afford to pay the boarding fees.

If that is the case, then I think you have to understand her so that you can continue with your education.

Isaac, every parent wants the best for his or her child but due to some circumstances you do not always get what you want in life.

Besides, being a day student in SHS will not change anything about you. All you need to do is to continue to study very hard.

There are many who have been day students and have been able to plan their time very well to excel in school.

Do not be rude because you are not happy with her decision. Continue to be a good boy.
