THIRD AFRICA –SOUTH AMERICA (ASA) SUMMIT INVITATION TO REPRESENTATIVES OF THE MEDIA

14 May: Senior Officials Meeting - Sixth Africa-South America

Cooperation Forum (ASACOF) ;

15 May: Ministerial Meeting - Fifth Africa-South America

Cooperation Forum (ASACOF) ;

15 -16 May: Third Africa-South America (ASA) Summit.

Where: Malabo, Republic of Equatorial Guinea.

Who:

Organized by the African Union Commission (AUC) in collaboration with the Government of Equatorial Guinea.

Objectives:

The Conference will consider the Africa – South America Implementation Plan 2010 – 2015 as well as proposed key priority projects including: the ASA Institutions (Strategic Presidential Committee and Permanent Secretariat); the Financing of ASA Projects, Programs and the Permanent Secretariat. The recommendations of the Experts and Ministers will then be put forward to the ASA Summit for consideration and adoption.

Participants:

Participants of the ASA meetings will include AU Commission, AU organs, Representatives from some South American countries; officials and other invited guests.

Journalists are invited to cover the Africa-South America Cooperation Forum (ASACOF) from Monday 14th to Wednesday 16th May 2012.
