It was great seeing the Internationallly acclaimed TV,Film and Stage Actor , Tunji Sotimirin Performing something out of Wole Soyinka"s Death and the Kings Horseman at the Waltham Forest Town Hall.East London which is quite significant to the development ofTheatre in the UK.

iT was a robust and gripping performance with Sotimirin"s impeccable English diction combined with the nuances,gestures and movements of iIndigenous Nigerian Language .

Tunji sotimirin has beeen described as the Eddy Murphy of Nigeria.I think what they meant to state is that he is Nigeria"s response to Edddy Murphy of the United States.

Tunji Sotimirin currently on sabbatical from the University of Lagos where he is a Lecturer in the Department of Drama is currently at the Department ofDrama,Goldsmiths College,University ofLondon.He is as welll a Compere, a Singer( Of Konkere Music)rand Television Presenter.

This Performace at Waltham Forest Town Hall, under the auspices of the Nigerian Community of Waltham forest to mark the Independence anniversary ,quite coincidentally,took Place on November 27 2011.On November 24 1966,45 years and three days before Wale Ogunyemi at the Schoolof Drama,University of Ibadan,pioneered a Solo Performance titltled Acts without Words.but TunjiSotimirin is credited with the first notable one man based Theatre in Nigeria and is probably influenced by Jerzy Grotowski editor of "the Poor theatre"

Tunji Sotimirin came to prominence with" Molue" a Demonstration of the Day to day happenings and peculiarities of the Mass Transit sysytem in Lagos.
