Abia State Consumer Protection Council, CPC, has warned traders in Aba against sale of fake and adulterated goods.

The council said it would not take it kindly with anybody caught contravening the law.

Chairman of the council in the state, Dr. Steve Amanze, who gave the warning in Aba while addressing members of Ngwa Road Market Traders Association, NGWAMATA, observed with dismay that faking of products had become rampant in the city.

He noted that many peoples' lives were now in danger, while others had died as a result of  consumption of fake and adulterated products.

He said it would not do any trader any good to, through unwholesome practices, put the lives of his follow human being in danger.

Advising people to always volunteer information about those who indulged in such dangerous practices, Amanze said the council was going to prosecute defaulters and solicited the traders support.
