AMOSUN, YAKOWA HARP ON COLLABORATION AMONG STATES

ABEOKUTA - Ogun State governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun and his Kaduna State counterpart, governor Patrick Yakowa has called for collaboration among the 36 states of the federation in order to ensure rapid growth and development of the country.

According to a statement by the Senior Special Adviser to the governor on Media and Communication, Mrs Funmi Wakama, the governors made the call, yesterday in Abeokuta, at  a reception in honour of Yakowa who was in the state to attend the Ogun State Investors' Forum, which commences today (Monday)

Amosun said state governments needed effective collaboration in the areas of agriculture and manufacturing, adding that  states must come together to develop the country for the benefit of the masses, regardless of their political affiliation.

He said the investment summit was meant to share ideas, to develop the state's capacity so as to benefit the entire masses.

GovernorPatrick Yakowa, said they were in Ogun to tap from the summit and replicate the experience for development of Kaduna State.  He said his administration was making efforts at reviving the textile industries in order to create employment.

He noted that the challenges in Kaduna State were enormous, adding that government and security agencies were working round the clock to ensure peace and create an enabling environment for business to thrive in the state.

The Ogun State Investors' Forum is aimed at reviving and developing the economy of the state.
