Governors Turn Against GEJ… Rejects Bamanga Tukur, As PDP National Chairman

Huhuonline.com understands that governors from the North -East geopolitical zone, Wednesday, reneged on an arrangement reached with President Goodluck Jonathan and rejected Alhaji Bamaga Tukur, his anointed candidate for the national chairmanship of

 the  party.
At the party`s congress, which was held in Bauchi state, the governors unanimously mobilized the delegates against the anointed, thus handing him a resounding defeat.

The results as announced by Paul Wampana, outgoing National Vice Chairman of the PDP in North-East, shows that Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, who polled only two votes, was trounced by Musa Babayo, immediate past acting national secretary of the party. He polled 14 votes.

Other contestants are former Ministers of Interior, Shettima Mustapha and Federal Capital Territory, Ibrahim Bunu who polled two votes each.

While the party's National Publicity Secretary, Prof.Rufai Ahmed Alkali, and former governor of Bauchi State, Ahmed Adamu Muazu, polled one vote each .
