WHO: The meeting is being organized by the African Union Commission, the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, the African Development Bank and the United Nations Development Programme

Why: The main aim of the meeting is to validate the 2012 Report on Assessing Progress towards the Millennium Development Goals in Africa.

Journalists are invited to cover the official opening of the meeting, which will begin at 09:00 on Wednesday 7 March. The programme is attached.
