Another Bomb Blast Averted In Suleja

MINNA, February 29, (THEWILL) – Yet another monumental loss of lives and destruction of properties was avoided in the northern Nigerian state of Niger on Wednesday when the anti-bomb unit of the Nigeria Police Force defused a bomb satanically positioned at the populous and ever-busy Ibrahim Badamosi Babagida Market.

The home-made bomb carefully concealed in a large cellophane bag, was reportedly discovered at about 9am local time by market men who promptly notified the Police.

On arrival at the market, located in Suleja just close to the country’s Federal Capital Territory, the anti-bomb unit cleared depopulated it and defused the bomb. Normal business activities have since resumed in the market.

In another development, it was confirmed that unknown gunmen attacked the Demsa Divisional Police Office in Demsa Local Government, Adamawa, on Tuesday night, killing a corporal on duty. The gang equally lost one of its men.

Confirming the tragedy, Public Relations Officer of the state’s Police, ASP Altine Daniel, said the attack followed similar one two days earlier in Shuwa Village, Madagali Local Government, which resulted into the death of three policemen and injury to one.
