… AS OPPOSITION MEMBERS DEFECT TO PARTY

Politicians from Ile Oluji Okeigbo Local Government of Ondo State yesterday defected to the Labour Party.

This is coming barely few days after Tanimola, the personal assistant to the gubernatorial candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Dr. Olu Agunloye, defected to the ruling party with other prominent politicians in Akoko North West Local Government.

The National Chairman of the party, Chief Dan Nwanyanwu, Governor Olusegun Mimiko and his Deputy, Alhaji Alli Olanusi witnessed the event.

Chairman of the party, Chief Olu Ogidan received the defectors among whom were, Mr. Ogunkoya Ibrahim (ACN), Evangelist Israel Adewole (PDP), Mr. Ishola Odunayo (PDP), Mr. Dauda Fatola a.k.a Baba Ruka (PDP), Mr. Najim Abidoye (PDP) and Mr. Isaac Onasola (PDP) with hundreds of their supporters.

Ogidan, who commended the people for embracing Labour Party and its policies, congratulated the defectors on their choice of the party, especially when the state was witnessing tremendous transformations in all facets of life.

Governor Mimiko, who described the council area as one of the strongholds of Labour Party, appreciated the people for their support and commitment to the course of the party.

He affirmed that his administration would continue to take decisions that would benefit the majority of the people, stressing that no amount of intimidation could deter him from completely fulfilling his promises to the people.

Mimiko charged the people of the area to remain steadfast and imbibe the spirit of unity in their day-to-day affairs.

Meanwhile, Governor Olusegun Mimiko had commissioned two community development projects in the council area.

They are Basic Health Centre in Asana Aye and a Town Hall in Idiroko, in Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government Area of the state.

Mimiko on the occasions assured the people of the state of more dividends of democracy and called for their support at all times.
