SAN FRANCISCO, February 06, (THEWILL) – Multiple bombs have been detonated in Maiduguri, the headquarters of the Boko Haram desecrating the Eid-el-Maulud, the birthday of Prophet Mohammed.

Sources told THEWILL that the explosions started at about 3.50pm around the Customs District particularly targeting the Gamboru Market. The blasts left a billow of smoke in the skyline forcing residents to flee for safety.

No deaths were however recorded following the explosions.

In a related development, two persons have also killed in cold blood in Maiduguri by Islamic terrorists barely two nights after a former local government chairman, a friend and an SSS personnel were shot dead at close range at different locations in the troubled city.

The Sunday night killings resembled an assassination targeting two Kogi State indigenes – Dele (an Ebira) and Ore (a Kabba indigene). Both men were killed in their apartments located in the Ummalari ward. It is not clear why they were assassinated. However, recall that the Boko Haram spokesman, Abul qada, who is being detained by the SSS, is also from the State. It is also not clear whether the men knew or had any contact with Abul qada.

Recall that the Boko Haram had promised to kill those that may have aided in the arrest of qada.

A friend of the victims told correspondents that the gunmen knew their targets because they just went straight to their different apartments and shot both men multiple times.

“Their corpse are still lying on the floor in their apartments as I am talking to you people now,” the friend who asked not to be named told reporters.

The Boko Haram is presently fractured -- a splinter group going by the name ‘Ansaru’ has emerged vowing to crush the BH.
