THERE IS NO AIR TICKET TO AFRICAN AMERICAN LAND

NO AIR TICKET TO AFRICAN AMERICAN LAND or the Lie/Illusion of Being African and American in White America , By (c) 2012 by Prof. Afrikadzata Deku, Docteur d'Etat; Doctorat d'Etat (PhD); [email protected];

“Fine and wonderful morning to you my beautiful Sister.”

“Fine and wonderful day to you my wonderful Bro. How are you for me?”

“Fine and wonderful.”
“And how is your grandfather?”
“He is wonderful.”
“How is your grandmother doing?”
“Oh, she is superb for her age ”
“What about your father, is he well too?”
“Yes, he is great.”
“What about your loving mother?”
“She is wonderful and very fine too”
“How are your children?”
“They are all fine and doing wonderfully.”
“Have you been hearing from you aunts and uncles?”
“Oh, yes, very often, they are all doing well.”
And before I could ask her about her health and the health of members of her family and mine as custom demands, she asked me, “What can I do for you this morning?”

“I want to buy air ticket from you,” I replied without wasting one second .

She looked at me with the broadest smile I have ever been blessed with from any proud human face on earth.

“One way or round trip ? ”, she asked.
“ One way, of course.”
“Where do you need the air ticket to?” she asked,
With the pride, joy, and confidence of a person who has just successfully closed thirteen billion dollar investment deal with the world's largest private fund on earth, I roared out at her.

“ I need a one-way air ticket to go to the land of African America,”

She smiled, drew her chair closer to me and touched her two ears to make sure they were still there and functioning properly,

“But, you can't get a ticket to African America or Black America.,”

Surprised at her reply, I quickly asked her,
“Why not?”
“Because, there is no land, no country, no nation, no government or state called African America or Black America for you to buy air ticket to go to “

As if, awakened from a year old coma, I asked her.

“Please, what did you just say?”
“I said, your air ticket to African America or Black America cannot take you anywhere except ………” .And before she could complete her sentence, I cut her in

“Except what?” I cut in impatiently and frustratingly.

“Except in your mind or imagination.”
Feeling insulted, I ventured to ask her :
“You mean, African America or Black America does not exist?”

“You don't know your geography or history?” , she replied back in anger

“How dare you insult my intelligence by implying that African America or Black America is the product or creation of my mind or imagination.”

As I uttered authoritatively these words, she looked at me pathetically with the word “pity” written all over her gloomy face.

“Calm down, my bro I don't mean any harm, I don't mean to insult your intelligence! Who am I to challenge you a Ph.D.? Far from it! I am just a travel agent trying to help you or rather make sense of your request.”

As those words felt one by one from her trembling lips, I noticed how scarred she became at my over-reaction to her claim that there is no land, country, nation or state in the world called African America or Black America, I can go to with my air ticket.

“I can sell ticket to you to North America or USA, but there is no air ticket for you to African or Black America.”

She calmly said as if to wake me up from my mental slumber or confusion.

“No, No, I say No, I need air ticket not to white America but to my lost Afrikan brothers and sisters in Black or African America.”

Seeing how useless it is in trying to reason with a human stone, I left her office wondering what to do next.

Soon, I found myself in the offices of one travel agent to another in search of my air ticket to the land of Black or Afrikan America.

And to my utter dismay, I was told by each one of them, the same story my first travel agent lady told me, but which I did not want to hear let alone accept as true.

Frustrated, exhausted, and sweating like a roasted chicken, I began to question my rationale to visit Africa America or Black America.

My total love for my people in USA and Europe totally blind folds me to the fact that Africa America does not have an African American land, nation, state, government and power to serve, satisfy, promote, protect and defend its African American cause, interests and needs in USA.

So, finally, I had to buy American/USA and not African American air ticket to go not to the land of African America but to the land of the White man, they are programmed to refer to as their own.

Aboard the plane to USA in search of my people, I know it is not going to be easy reminding them that they are not who and what they claim or think to be.

I know they will throw stones at me for daring to question who and what they want to be in their beloved white castle of USA.

I know they will burn my books for telling them they are still Afrikans in USA and Europe which most of them will consider a blasphemy for equating them with Afrika they are conditioned to look down upon as inferior to everything they have become and aspire to be here in the USA.

I know they will reject and dismiss as a lie or untrue or racist or anti-African American, the Bitter Truth to them not because it is not True but because the White Man did not tell them so in their Westernized educational system they call their own .

I know they will call me crazy when I tell them their present African American Identity exists only in their imagination because it is not rooted, empowered and protected by and based on the land of African America and without which no identity or power is power .
