Akwa Ibom State Government has urged all state governments in Nigeria to show greater commitment towards the protection of lives of all Nigerins resident in their states.

Governor Godswill Akpabio made the call Saturday at Government House, Uyo while addressing over a hundred corpers of Akwa Ibom extraction who returned from Zamfara State where they were on primary assignment with the National Youth Service Corps, because of security concerns.

He said 'the life of any Nigerian is very important to the Akwa Ibom Government'' and urged all state governments to place the same premium on every Nigerian child in its state.

He regretted that conditions which foster serious security challenges had driven the corpers to seek refuge in thier state of origin and assured all Nigerians in Akwa Ibom of maximum protection of their lives and property.

The governor thanked God for the safe arrival of the corpers to the state and charged them to continue to be law abiding.

The spokesperson for the returnee corps members, Mr. Udo Abasi Idiong Godwin thanked the state government for receiving them back in the state.
