2012: LET’S BE PRAYERFUL, KEEP HOPE ALIVE - ONI

By Lere Olayinka

Former Governor of Ekiti State, Chief Segun Oni has urged the people of the State to remain prayerful and be hopeful for better deal from God in 2012, adding that; “In this new year, the will of God will prevail on our dear State, Ekiti.”

He said; “No matter how tick a cloud is, there will always be sunshine at the end.”

Oni, in his New Year message to the people of the State signed by his Media Aide, Mr. Lere Olayinka, said the people's goodwill and support towards him in the year 2011 has further reinforced his commitment to serving the State wholeheartedly and making life more meaningful for the downtrodden.

“I therefore wish to congratulate the entire people of Ekiti State for this brand new year that God has made possible for us to see.

“I also wish to urge our people, especially supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to remain calm, focussed and keep hope alive in the New Year, because like I said the day we were removed from office, the judgment of posterity is the most important judgment and it is already manifesting,” Oni said.

While calling on Nigerians to remain faithful and supportive of the federal government and governments at all levels, the former governor said; “In spite of all the challenges of 2011, there is hope and assurance that our challenges as a nation are not insurmountable, and it is sure that all those issues that give us concerns as a people will fizzle out this New Year.”
