December 25, 2011
From the office of the President
A friend, comrades, activists, supporters, Ladies and gentlemen, the year 2011 has a long history and a unique tradition in our struggle, that gives us the courage and passion to celebrate our compliments. It is by this same token, that the National Union of Ogoni Students' (NUOS INTL) USA, on behalf of herself and the Ogoni people, brings you this seasonal greetings and a good will message, as we continue to celebrate the beauty of nature as well as the love that the season has bestowed on us as a people.

As a matter of fact, the past one year has been challenging and hectic, but with your commitment and support, we have been able to draw the world attention to the plight of the rich but suffering Ogoni people particularly the UNEP report on Oil and gas in Ogoniland. We also repose our confidence that Government and Shell in the coming days will be able to provide acceptable measure that will address this environmental and Health crisis.

On this note, we could not end this good will message without giving you special thanks, although it is hard to mention all the good people that have touched us and the Ogoni people in both their Individual and collective ways. We express our special gratitude and convey our endless appreciation to members of both international and local media and members of the human rights community for their endless support and commitment in highlighting the plight of the Ogonis.

Also, we could not forget all of our good supporters who stood with us during our ultimate moment of trials and tribulations. You did this not because it was popular but because it was the right thing to do. We salute your courage and anticipate that this partnership will continue to be a touchtone on which we shall all be remembered.

We are indeed immensely appreciative of your support and will continue to count on your support and assistance in the days and years to come.

Wishing you a happy Christmas and a prosperous new year.

Pius Barikpoa Nwinee
President (NUOS INTL) USA.
