The meeting will hold in two phases as follows:

12 - 14 December 2011: Senior Officials Meeting

15 – 16 December 2011: Ministerial Meeting

WHERE: Conference Center of the African Union in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

WHO: Organized by the Department of Trade and Industry of the African Union Commission in collaboration with the Trade Division of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA)

Expected Outcomes: The Meeting is expected to deliberate on a Plan of Action for the Africa Mining Vision .

Why this Conference: The Meeting is a platform for exchanging technical aspects of the mining sector, mineral management, mobilization of infrastructure investment, environmental concerns and building human and institutional capacities amongst other issues.

Who is expected: The African Mining Vision Meeting will bring together African Ministers Responsible for Mineral Resources Development, African experts in mining and mineral resources development, representatives of African Chambers of Mines and Industry, African Private Sector, Academia, UN agencies and NGOs and other relevant development partners.
