Libyan transition government thanks Austria for the medical treatment of injured persons

VIENNA, Austria, December 6, 2011/African Press Organization (APO)/ -- At the request of the Libyan transition government a number of Austrian hospitals have accepted patients who have been injured in the hostilities in Libya for further treatment. The list so far contains 72 people, of whom 30 have already arrived in Austria. It is planned to send some 100 persons to Austria for medical treatment.

In a letter to the Austrian Ambassador, the Libyan transition government, which is carrying the costs of this campaign, expressed its thanks for the help and support provided by Austrian doctors and hospitals and paid explicit tribute to the high standard of medical treatment in Austria. The assistance had been offered by Vice-Chancellor and Foreign Minister Michael Spindelegger during his recent visit.
