OLYMPIC TICKET: ALGERIA SACKS COACH

By NBF News

Under-23 Eagles, the Dream Team V, may have wobbled out of the first edition of the on-going CAF Under-23 Olympic Games Championship in Morocco, but the Austin Eguavoen-tutored side incurred the wrath of a handful of Algerian fans who were in the Grand Stade de Marrakech to cheer their team to victory against Nigeria.

An Algerian journalist, Hassan Kamel, who spoke on behalf of others told Nigerian journalists that they were angry because of the humiliating result and the failure of the Dream Team V to help them pick the ticket by losing the last group match.

Kamel, specifically made reference to a 1994 episode when Algeria helped Nigeria pick her first FIFA World Cup ticket by beating fellow Arabic country, Egypt, to pave way for Nigeria, insisting that since Nigeria has no bright chance of picking the ticket, she should have helped them. 'Nigeria is not good.

They did not do us well with this result. They would have helped us to qualify but they humiliated us with this result. You people forgot we helped you pick the ticket for USA 1994 World Cup when we defeated Egypt for you. You have no chances of picking this Olympic ticket but you did not help us to pick it. It is not good,' he lamented on behalf of others.
