By NBF News

WARRI- ELDERS of Ifiekporo community in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State have disowned a publication by Mr. Lucky Edon and Mr. Kingsley Okoturoh, wherein they named one Mr. Samuel Edon and David Okoturoh as Chairman and Secretary of the community, respectively.

A statement by 17 elders of the community, under the aegis of Ifiekporo Community Council of Elders, noted that Lucky Edon is not the Deputy Olare-Aja (Deputy Head) of the community since he 'is not in any way connected to Ejo-Eki paternally or maternally.'

According to the elders, anybody that must be Olare-Aja (Head of the Community) or Deputy Olare-Aja (Deputy Head of the Community), apart from having his lineage drawn from Ejo-Eki descendant, must be the most senior male for the position of Olare-Aja and second most senior male child for the position of deputy Olare-Aja.

The elders said the general public should disregard the said publication, stressing that it is misleading and has no historical background.

Secretary of the Council of Elders, Mr. Nami George, Rev. Stephen Gbejoro, Pa. S. Nikoro, Pa. George Mogbeyiteren, Pastor Gabriel Ogona and other prominent male and female elders of the council signed the statement.
