Heartland's build up to next years' CAF Confederations Cup appears to have run into troubled waters as a good number of her top players are set to leave for Dolphins and Sunshine Stars who are equally flying the country's flag in the continent.

Daily Sunsports investigation reveals that Port Harcourt based league winners, Dolphins have raided the camp of Heartland with at least four of the regulars of the Owerri side set to sign the dotted lines and shifting base to the Garden City.

We further gathered that Sunshine who alongside Dolphins will be flying Nigeria's flag in the money spinning CAF Champions league have equally shown interest in three Heartland players and are set to lure them away to Akure. A Heartland player who confirmed to Daily Sunsports that he is set to bid bye to Owerri said his decision was based on the mouth watering deal he is getting from Dolphins and the fact that Heartland management is not coming up with any solid offer, ahead of the new season.

'Dolphin has promised to pay something real good, its an offer which as a player I cant afford to turn down, especially when one is not sure of anything here in Heartland. We literally had to go on strike to get the one million naira which the state government promised us for winning the Federation Cup.

Our outstanding sign on fees for last season is yet to be cleared, so there is nothing to motivate one to remain here in Owerri,' he said. Another player who is Akure bound said Sunshine has equally offered him a good deal, even as he added that he would prefer to play in the more lucrative and glamorous CAF Champions leagu

'Quite honestly nothing seems to be happening at Heartland that is why I am set to leave. Moreover, it would be better playing in the CAF Champions league,' he said.
