ANOTHER PHANTOM CLAIM - DANIEL

By NBF News

In a swift reaction, the former governor in a statement by one of his aides, Adegbenro Adebanjo said; ' It is needless and pointless reacting to such phantom claims like the statement credited to Ogun State Governor Senator Ibikunle Amosun to the effect that the past administration stole N87 billion.

'At such a commanding height of governance, we should never play politics with facts and figures. It is also important that  people in such high offices should never push untruth into the public domain just because they want to score cheap political points.

'At a point during a visit to OOU the governor claimed  that; N87Billion debt was left behind by his predecessor and by the time he was addressing the town hall meeting what he described as debt some few days back had been transformed to stealing.  This apparent contradiction is indicative that there is no truth in the phantom claim.

'It is therefore clear that the Governor of Ogun State merely played to the gallery at the town hall meeting because deep down he knows that there is no missing N87 billion in Ogun state and therefore no such amount has been stolen. We therefore disclaim the phantom and false allegation against the person and administration of Otunba Daniel and view it as part of the continuation of the dark propaganda against him.

'The present administration should react to the allegation that it had ordered for APC at an inflated rate , that it paid a whopping sum of N500 illion to two firms to audit the account of the state without the consent of the state executive council and that it awarded the contract for a kilometre of road at N500 million. These are the salient issues begging for explanation and no amount of red herring will wish the issues away.'
