CASHLESS POLICY: ETRANZACT PLANS DEPLOYMENT OF ELECTRONIC PRODUCTS

eTranzact International Plc has introduced a number of products aimed at facilitating the Central Bank of Nigeria's CBN's, soon-to-be-introduced cashless policy.

According to a statement by the company, it is positioning its operations to ensure a successful implementation of the cashless policy, scheduled to kick off in Lagos, January 1, 2012.

Mr. Sullivan Akala, Director Business Development of eTranzact, said, 'eTranzact is at the forefront in ensuring that the CBN cashless policy becomes a huge success. Over the years, we have built an electronic payment services platform that provides secure, convenient and cost effective ways for customers to carry out their transaction either through Automated Teller Machines, ATM, Point of Sales, POS, web and the mobile phones.'

He explained that since inception, eTranzact have focused on deploying secure services that provide cardholders convenient ways to process transactions such as, ATM Cardlex Cash, eRemit, Corporate Pay solutions, WebAccess service, Mobile Money among others.

He added that eTranzact has over 300 merchants both from public and private sector on its platform and intend to leverage on this to pursue the success of the programme.

Akala stated further, 'All these solutions are possible with our Genesis Chip+Pin card. The Genesis Chip+Pin card comes with access to web, mobile money, mobile banking, ATM and POS payment features.

'With any Genesis card, debit, prepaid or credit cards, cardholders are entitled to purchase airline tickets, book hotels at discounted rates, make online payments pay DSTV/HiTV bills, postpaid and airtime top up of major telecom networks, among others, through all channels.'

'Operation Cashless Lagos' entails full scale deployment of Automated Teller Machines, ATM, use of POS terminals by merchants, Web payment and Mobile Money service.
