FBN Capital, the Investment Banking and Asset Management business of First Bank Group will host its maiden Investor Conference from November 28 - 30, 2011 at the Eko Hotel in Lagos, Nigeria. The Conference is an annual event designed to facilitate

the development of innovative partnerships and strategies for maximizing investment opportunities in Nigeria.

Themed 'From BRICS to BRI N CS - A Real Conversation', the conference seeks to address investment opportunities in the fast changing Nigerian Economy as well as provide a forum for international investors to interact with policymakers, regulators and Nigerian business leaders with a view to capitalizing on the nation's multi-sectorial investment prospects. The keynote speakers over the three day conference period are the Coordinating Minister for the Economy Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Minister of Petroleum Resources Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, Minister for Trade and Investment Dr. Olusegun Aganga, Minister of Power Prof. Barth Nnaji, Minister of Agriculture Dr. Akinwunmi Adesina, and the AMCON CEO Mr. Mustafa Chike-Obi, with a dinner hosted by the CBN Governor Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi.

According to the MD/CEO FBN Capital, Mr. Osaze Osifo, the conference would showcase prospects for growth in different sectors of the nation's economy; a development he said represented opportunities for good return on investments for existing and prospective investors. 'Nigeria's US$200bn economy has grown by an annual average of 6.6% in the past five years, and this trend is upward. Over the past eight quarters the non-oil economy has posted average growth of 8.5% (on a year-on-year basis), compared with 3.0% for the oil and gas sector, clearly showing that the non-oil and gas sectors are driving the Nigerian economy' he said.

Osifo added that discussions during the event would address the steps that are required to help deepen the Nigerian capital markets, improve access to unlisted companies as well as highlight capital-raising and growth opportunities which will boost Nigeria's image as a foremost destination for investments in sub-Saharan Africa.
