FAJANA, JABU VC BAGS FELLOW OF ACADEMY OF MGT AWARD

Prof. Sola Fajana, VC Joseph Ayo Babalola University, Ikeji Arakeji in Osun State has been admitted to fellowship of the highest body of academics in the management profession.

The investiture, which involved three other management gurus, took place in Abuja.

The Academy of Management Nigeria takes its membership from all people in academics whose qualifications are not below a doctorate degree.

Fajana was Professor of Industrial Relations and Personnel Management at the University of Lagos up till July 2011.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Personnel Management, Council Member of the Nigerian Industrial Relations Association as Secretary-Treasurer, the Nigerian Institute of Management, and the Council on Employees Responsibilities and Rights in the United States.

His previous appointments at the University of Lagos, include Dean, Faculty of Business Administration and Member of Senate, Member of Administrative and Technical Staff Committee, Member of Honours Committee, and other committees of Senate.

He was producer and anchor of a human resource management discussion programme on NTA Channel 10.

As Secretary of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, UNILAG Branch for five years, Fajana received sufficient experience leading to greater appreciations of the necessity for democratic governance within the context of the 'state of the nation'.

He was Sub-Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration. He was Secretary of the University of Lagos Branch of the Academic Staff Union of Universities.

JABU's VC was once the Project Manager, Friedrich Ebert Foundation (Germany), Lagos Office, and Training Manager, Majekodunmi Ventures PLC.

At the International Labour Organisation in Nigeria, Fajana recently had responsibility for SSA Contracts as international consultant in the formulation of the decent work country programme for Nigeria, providing expertise in projects priorities, as well as metrics for evaluation and reporting.

He handled the post VAS validation study for Vitamin A Supplementation 2008 for UNICEF .  He the award to his students, past, present and future, and pledged to rededicate himself to greater visibility for his university which is currently rebranding as an entrepreneurial university.
