INJUNCTION AGAINST TC: DANIEL HAS SKELETONS, SAYS OLADUNJOYE

Former Chairman of Ijebu East Local Government Area of Ogun State, Hon. Tunde Oladunjoye, has described the court injunction secured by erstwhile governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, as confirmation that 'he has skeletons loaded in his cupboards.'

Oladunjoye, who was the state's deputy governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the last general election, in a press statement released in Abeokuta yesterday said he had been vindicated.

His words: 'I am not surprised at all, it is true to Daniel's character, I said it a couple of weeks back that he would go and get injunction, having failed to lobby members of the Truth Commission whom he initially patronized with praises. I have been vindicated; Daniel's cupboards are full to the brim with skeletons.'

Describing it as an irony, Oladunjoye, who a United Nations Ambassador said: 'Daniel, who praised the integrity of the panel members and volunteered to appear before the Truth Commission, even before he was invited, now went to secure injunction against the same commission, he can only delay, he cannot evade his date with justice. Quote me, 'he can run, but he cannot hide from his shadow.'

The former local government chairman, whose administration was suspended by Daniel, hinted that he intended to file 12 petitions against Daniel, his former boss, at the Truth Commission out of which he just submitted three last week.

'I submitted one on the daylight violent visit of Empress Funke Daniel to my house on July 24, 2010, during which my house was vandalized, my neighbours terrorized and the entire Ijebu Itele community harassed. And I was threatened. My Special Assistant, Mr. Rashidi Odunaya, was brutalized and the palace of our Oba Moyegeso of Itele desecrated.'

'My brutalised assistant has submitted one and I also submitted another on behalf of the victimised people of Ijebu Ife, whose relatives were killed and maimed, and properties worth several millions of naira were destroyed.

'The petition on Ijebu-Ife was backed with video evidence that you need strong will to watch without shedding tears, as it is filled with sorrow, tears and blood of my armless people of Ijebu-Ife, who Daniel encouraged the police to terrorise as he was going from one social engagement to another, before arriving Ijebu-Ife at 4:30 p.m,' he said.
