Kayode Akinkugbe appointed as Deputy Managing Director of FBN Capital

In line with the goal to take a leading position in the financial services industry, First Bank of Nigeria Plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Kayode Akinkugbe as Deputy Managing Director of FBN Capital, its Investment Banking and Asset

 Management business.
 
As follow-on to the successful integration of four subsidiaries that make up the Investment Banking and Asset Management group, Akinkugbe's appointment is another strategic move to further enhance the firm's competitive edge and growing momentum towards providing best-in-class investment banking and asset management services to its clients.

 
Akinkugbe brings over 18 years experience working in top tier global universal banks in the UK and Nigeria, where he focused on arranging finance and providing strategic advice to public and private sector organisations. He started his banking career at Ecobank Nigeria before proceeding to the UK for postgraduate study. On completion, he joined HSBC where he spent 3 years in the Debt Capital Markets group. Akinkugbe then went on to spend 11 years developing the sub-Saharan investment banking businesses first at Credit Suisse, and latterly at Deutsche Bank where he was Head of sub-Saharan Africa (ex-SA) coverage.

 
Over the course of his career, Akinkugbe has led senior teams originating and executing over US$7.5bn of structured debt, project finance, and equity financings syndicated across bank and capital markets, as well as advising on over US$5bn of M&A transactions. He holds an M.Sc International Accounting & Finance from the London School of Economics, an MBA from Cranfield University in the United Kingdom and a first degree in Economics from the University of Ibadan.
