DUBAI-BASED FIRM TO PARTNER ABIA IN OIL, GAS BUSINESS

A DUBAI-based oil and gas firm, Alkamali Petroleum, has indicated interest to partner with Abia State Government in the business of oil and gas.

Already, the company, with interests around the world and which said that it had been in oil business for 10 years, has paid a visit to the state where the officials met with the deputy governor, Chief Emeka Ananaba, to express interest to do business with the state.

During the visit, chairman of the company, Sheik Badar Alkamali, explained that they were in the state to discuss areas of opportunities and partnership between the state and his company.

Alkamali said the company intended to expand and move its business to Nigeria and called for cooperation from the state to achieve the objective.

In his remarks, the strategic partner of the company, Nassirdeen Yahaya Kwande, explained that they were searching for opportunities and had come to assess the opportunities in Abia and build on them.

He said their commitment would be based on what the state government decided.

Receiving the team, Ananaba assured them of cooperation and conducive investment atmosphere existing in Abia state, and told them that the state was endowed with oil.

The deputy governor told the team that the state was ready to welcome genuine investors to do business with the state.
