FG harps on need to uplift cultural heritage

The minister of Tourism, Culture and National Orientation, Chief Edem Duke has stressed the need to protect and uplift the nation's cultural heritage and eliminate the barrier of ethnic and religious differences for the rapid development of Nigeria.Chief Edem Duke made this call in Abuja, Thursday, when he received the managing director and project co-ordinator of 'The Wind of Change', A docu-movie on the Unity of Nigeria as a nation and his team in his office.

The minister stated that the project, which is a reflection of Nigeria's collective desire to portray the good image of Nigeria to the world, through media creative platform, could not had come at a better time than now. He therefore conveyed the endorsement of the Federal Ministry of Tourism, Culture and National Orientation to Admurt Nigeria Limited, the project coordinator of the Docu-movie, on the Unity and Strength of Nigeria in her diversity in the last fifty one years.

The minister then called for the total support of this laudable initiative in portraying a better image and perception for Nigeria through media documentation and drama. The managing director of Admurt Nigeria Limited and project coordinator, Prince Olumide Oyewunmi, said 'the wind of change' is based on upholding the unity of Nigeria. He said with the great responsibility, Admurt Nigeria Limited has commenced work towards actualising the target of this laudable national assignment.

He said very soon, it would be revealed to the whole world that the epitome of the docu-movie 'The Wind of Change' is a product of positive thinking of many Nigerians that our strength as a nation can not be underestimated.

The script of the wind of change is written by Dr. Bayo Adebowale and to be directed by the ace Cinematographer, Tunde Kelani, of the Main Frame Production. Meanwhile, all is set for the Official Declaration of the project by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on The first day of November 2011 at Golden Dragon,Premier Hotel Ibadan at 11am.
