For the second consecutive day, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has failed to arraign two of the three former governors arrested last week. Femi Babafemi, spokesman for EFCC, told huhuonline.com that the inability of the commission to find

judges to preside over the cases was responsible for the hiccup in prosecuting the thieving former governors.

Asked if the commission was not in violation of law, which allows it detain an individual for only forty eight hours, after which the individual must be prosecuted. Femi Babafemi, said, once a case is filed in a court, the arrested individual is now in the custody of the courts, and not the EFCC.

Our checks reveal that Federal High Court judges are attending the new 2011/2012 Legal Year Conference in Sokoto State.

The three former governors are alleged to have misappropriated N101billion naira, while in office. Specifically, Former Governor Gbenga Daniels allegedly misappropriated N58billion, his counterpart in Oyo, Aloa-Akala stole N25 billion, while former Governor of Nasarawa, Dome misappropriated N18billion.

However, Alao-Akala, who was arraigned alongside two other at the High Court, Ring-Road, Ibadan,   pleaded not guilty to the charges and was remanded in the custody of the state security service, SSS in Ibadan.
