SAN FRANCISCO, October 10, (THEWILL) – Millions of BlackBerry users in Africa, Europe and Middle East were blacked-out Monday finding it impossible to use the internet, and popular BlackBerry messaging services because of an outage Canadian manufacturer Research in Motion said it was looking into.

“We are working to resolve an issue currently impacting some BlackBerry subscribers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

“We are investigating, and we apologise to our customers for any inconvenience caused while this is resolved,” RIM said in a statement.

In Nigeria, many users were frustrated trying to send messages or connecting to the internet from their BBs. Most thought it was a problem from the often problematic local service providers like MTN, Airtel, Glo and Etisalat.

THEWILL is however unable to confirm whether RIM has fully rectified the problem.
