A 30-year old petty trader, Funmilayo Taiwo-Yinka, on Tuesday pleaded with an Agege customary court to dissolve her seven-year-old marriage to her estranged husband.

Funmilayo, a Togolese, told the court that she was no longer interested in her marriage to Stephen Yinka because of the alleged confession of an Islamic priest.

According to Funmilayo, the priest's conscience made him reveal that Yinka married her with love portion.

“I can no longer stay married to a man that gets involved in juju. His priest has confessed, what more do I need? It is so obvious that he prevents me from going to church because of his juju.” she said.

Funmilayo said she was ready to release her three children aged six, four and one to their father for full custody.

Stephen, however, told the court that his wife moved out of her matrimonial home because he could not afford to pay house rent.

He alleged that Funmilayo had been co-habiting with a pastor of a white-garment church close to their house.

“She carried my baby to the church. Her pastor changed the name I gave to my child and he didn't allow me buy anything for the naming ceremony.

`` The ceremony was done in the church and I was not even present,” he said.

The case was adjourned till Oct. 4 for further hearing.
