Brume's death painful and shocking, says Uduaghan

Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan has described the death of Senator Fred Brume as painful, untimely, and shocking as well as a big loss to the nation.

Dr. Uduaghan who expressed his feelings in a condolence message issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Sunny Ogefere , said that the news of Senator Brume's death came as a surprise stressing that it was a big loss to the nation.

According to him, Senator Brume was a nationalist and a patriot who sacrificed fame and resources on the altar of national unity.

The Governor recalled that as pioneer Managing Director of Delta Steel Company, Ovwian-Aladja, the Senator tried to lay a proper foundation for the growth of the steel industry in the country. However, forces beyond him thwarted his effort

Similarly, he noted that Senator Brume's functional contributions at the Senate ensured that Delta State, Niger Delta and the country in general were effectively represented. “Today the development of the Niger Delta region through the Niger Delta Development Commission can be attributed to efforts made by Senator Brume and his colleagues”.

“Senator Brume was one proud Urhobo man who always fought for the interest of his people”, he stated.

Governor Uduaghan said that Delta will miss him. He prayed God to give Brume's family the fortitude to bear the loss and grant the deceased's soul eternal rest.
