TRIBUNAL FAILS TO HOLD ELECTORAL MATERIALS' FORENSIC ANALYSIS

By NBF News

Chairman of the tribunal, Justice Joy Ogwurike, had last Thursday,  ordered that the electoral materials for the election of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly, Mr Basil Ganagana of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, be analysed by forensic experts within three days commencing from tuesday.

The House of Assembly candidate of Fresh Democratic Party, FDP in the Patani constituency for the election, Mr Raymos Guanah, had dragged Ganagana, PDP and Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to the tribunal, arguing that the said election was rigged.

Vanguard gathered that the forensic analysis could not hold due to late service of the tribunal order on INEC.

When Vanguard visited INEC office in Patani, the office was under lock and key.

However, a security guard, who spoke with our correspondent on condition of anonymity, said INEC was served with the order, weekend. He noted, that the exercise would commence wednesday.
