Nse Etim Congratulates Funke Akindele
Nse Ikpe-Etim, though relatively new to Nollywood, has won for herself a legion of fans for her role in Emem Isong's Reloaded. Ikpe-Etim whose role portrayal in Reloaded caught the eye of critics with her nomination alongside established names such as Stephanie Okereke and Funke Akindele, both nominated for the Best Lead Actress for Reloaded and Jenifa respectively at the recently held AAMA awards. The award ceremony held in Yenagoa the Bayelsa State capital saw Funke Akindele taking home the statute for the prestigious award. While the verdict on the choice of the AAMA judges was something all the nominees had to live with, fans are still debating who deserved to carry the day. While the arguments are going on Nse Ikpe-Etim has accepted the choice of the AAMA judges. The Abuja based actress and scriptwriter in a phone chat with Daily Independent congratulated Akindele. Ikpe-Etim who is on the Queen Amina film set in far away Zaria said Akindele deserved the award. She said, "Funke really deserved to win. When I saw the movie (Jenifa), I felt she put in her best. I still have the movie at home. I can't help but appreciate the level of art she applied in interpreting her role in Jenifa. I even called her to tell her well done after I watched the movie. So, I have no doubt in my mind that she is the right person for the award."
