By NBF News

Akure- ONDO State governor, Olusegun Mimiko, yesterday charged Muslem faithful to pray for divine healing of the nation from wanton waste of lives and property that characterised the polity in recent times.

Dr Mimiko spoke in Akure while hosting the Muslim community in the state led by Chief Imam of Akure, Alhaji Adbul Hakeem Yayi Akorede.

He said: 'I want you all to continue to pray for divine healing for our country so that we can put an end to this wanton waste of lives and property. By this our country can indeed be truly great.

Piety, devotion, spirit of oneness and neighbourliness displayed during the holy month of fasting must continue even after fasting to take the country to greater heights.

'I want to enjoin you all to continue to be your brother's keepers; we must live in peace with our neighbours, we must imbibe, at all times, the spirit of oneness, piety, self- sacrifice that we all went through during the fasting period. We must emulate the teachings and ways of Prophet Mohammed if all our sacrifices and fasting must make any meaning before Almighty Allah.'
