ISESE FESTIVAL SET TO CELEBRATE TRADITIONAL AND CULTURAL HERITAGE

Every August 20, traditional worshippers of the Ogboni Saala worldwide gather to celebrate her traditional and cultural heritages but this year, the Oba Saala of Ogboni of Ogboni Saala worldwide, His Royal Majesty Olamilekan Olaniyi Fayemi is rebranding this year's festival to make it a memorable one.

This year's annual festival is filled with expectations and will be characterized by activities like boxing tournament, wrestling, durbar, traditional poetry and dance drama while participants will be thrilled with cool music performance from prominent Fuji singers like Saheed Osupa, Yinka Best, Obesere and others.

According to the planners of the celebration, 25th Planners Company, whose services have been employed to ensure the success of the festival, the carnival has been scheduled to hold between 28 to 30 August 2011 at the usual worship ground, Saala Wonderland, Mowo-Kerekere village Ijede Road, Ikorodu, Lagos and the central theme of the event tagged 'Sparkling Glory'.

Oba Saala, Olaniyi while speaking at the media briefing prophesied and urged everyone to pray fervently to avoid fighting between the Christians and Moslems community in Nigeria. Olamilekan also stated that the Saala Ogboni fellowship is not a secret society but a tradition handed down by 'our forefathers who were worshippers of the religion.' He also appealed for peace to reign and that culture and tradition should be maintained and propagated rather than imbibing the western culture. He added that the word 'Saala' means purity and should be a virtue that should be imbibed.
