I'M NOT IMPRESSED - ANYANSI

By NBF News

Despite his team's convincing 2 - 0 win over visiting Raja Club Athletic of Morocco in Match Day 3 of the Orange CAF Championship league at Aba, Enyimba Chairman Felix Anyansi Agwu has expressed disappointment over Enyimba's below average performance especially in the second half of the game.

Anyansi obviously responded to the seeming lackluster performance posted by his team during the second half after they had conveniently tamed bottom placed Raja during the first half. According to him, it is always in the character of Enyimba to explore opportunities aimed at delivering full potentials.

These full potentials in his estimation were not to be, as his team killed their game in the second half; with flashes of complacency not typical of a side designed to soar like the eagle.

Though Anyansi accepted that one does not win 100% all the time, he was quick to observe that the rains messed up the playing pitch which may have also contributed to the poor passage of the balls.

Enyimba opened scoring in the 9th minute when Uche Kalu invented a thunderous grounder that did not only send shock waves to bewildered Raja Goal keeper Yassine El Had but also incensed expected frenzy within the Enyimba Stadium. The visitors' very many efforts to salvage the situation did not yield any positive result as Man of the Match, Markson Ojobo in full control of Enyimba defence frustrated the Moroccan side.

Raja was further decimated to the status of commoners when hardworking Captain of Enyimba; Chiedozie Johnson came from the middle to stun a disparaged Raja with a second goal in the 27th minute of the game. It was may be these two goals that made Enyimba look like they were on the mood to take Raja to the slab.

The second half was expected to be very enterprising, given that Enyimba did so well in the first half and considering that Raja, with just one point in two previous matches would spill their blood to revive their stay in the competition.

That was not to be as Enyimba made a fast retreat, failing to take advantage of the opponents' poor defensive tactics. Raja's forward Bouchaib El Moubraki raced from pillar to post with his team mates but could not change the status of his team.

Enyimba is still placed first in the group on superior goals difference as they are tied on the same seven points with Sudanese Al - Hilal. Raja is placed last below Cameroonian Coton Sport. Enyimba is billed to play Raja in Casablanca in a forth night in a match the home team must win or face forced exit from Africa's biggest Club Competition.
