BENIN CITY-THE Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Edo State, yesterday, asked the election petitions tribunal sitting in the state, to order the Inspector General of Police, IG, to investigate the alleged thump printing of fake ballot papers in the April National Assembly elections in the state by the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN.

PDP candidate for the House of Representatives seat for Ovia  Federal constituency of the state, Mrs Charity Amanyawo, who is challenging the declaration of Mr. Isaac Osahon of the ACN as the winner of the election, alleged in the application that the ACN candidate and his supporters thumb printed fake ballot papers with a view to increasing their votes to justify the declaration by Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, of Mr. Osahon as winner of the election.

On the need for the tribunal to order the IG to investigate the matter,  which the PDP candidate described as criminal, Amanyawo argued that the tribunal could only do a thorough job in the matter, when the issue of thump printing of fake ballot papers, which according to her, gave the ACN candidate victory was investigated.
