PDP ENDORSES SUSPENSION OF EX-SENATE LEADER

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), South West zone has endorsed the suspension of former Senate leader, Tesilim Folarin and others from the party. The decision, which was the outcome of a meeting held at Iresaadun, Surulere Local Government, urged the national leadership of the party to be firm on its decision on members.

Odebunmi revealed that the meeting frowned at the anti-party activities of Folarin, Senator Lekan Balogun and Senator Gbenga Babalola during the last elections and backed their suspension from the party.

He stated that leaders of the party from the two local government areas, who attended the meeting also resolved that the national leaders of the party should not tolerate any act of indiscipline from members, irrespective of his or her status in the party.

They also pledged their readiness to embark on membership drive while commending the leadership of former governor Christopher Adebayo Akala. The constituency admonished Odebunmi for presenting essential commodities like rice, tea, milk and financial support to muslims for the Ramadan fast.

Odebunmi averred that Ramadan should be used by the wealthty to impact positively in the lives of the poor while drumming the need for Muslims and Christians to be their brothers' keepers

'Politicians should think of how to impact positively in the lives of the people and not engage in the selfish desire of amassing wealth at the expense of the populace. Leaders need the prayers of the people to succeed. They cannot do it all alone. They need prayers to be able to make positive impact in the lives of the people.'
