MINISTER SACKS PHCN BOSSES

In a move to strengthen the capacity of distribution companies to serve the public better, the Minister of Power, Prof. Bart Nnaji, yesterday effected swift changes in the leadership of four electric distribution companies.

The changes have led to replacement of four chief executives.

Those affected include Mr. Justus Obilomo (Eko), Mr. Oladele Adeola (Ibadan), Mr. George Chiatula (Benin) and Mr. Kosiso Nwaokoro (Jos).

The minister named their replacements as Mr. Oladele Amoda (Eko Distribution Company), Mr. Bolaji Mofoluso Oyesiku (Ibadan Distribution Company), Dr. Effiong Umoren (Benin) and Mrs. Vera Ngozi Osuhor (Jos).

Prof. Nnaji had told the top level managers of the power generation, transmission and distribution companies in a meeting last Monday that those who fail to perform and consistently miss their service level agreement targets would be replaced to underscore government's seriousness to pursue the reform agenda robustly.

The minister later met with the new CEOs and congratulated them on their appointments. He urged them to live up to government's expectation.

'Government needs to see actual performance from us both in terms of network operations and revenue collection. I trust you will justify the confidence we have in you with your appointments,' he said.

The minister also told the CEOs that government would hold them responsible for meeting the service level agreements already subsisting in their various companies. The appointments take effect immediately.
