ORJI PLEDGES ASSISTANCE TO FAMILY OF SLAIN ORDERLY
Umuahia - Governor Theodore Orji of Abia State will assist the family of slain police orderly attached to Government House, Umuahia, the Media Adviser to the Governor, Mr Boni Iwuoha, has said.
Iwuoha said the July 19 killing of the policeman devastated Orji, adding that for two days, the governor could not attend any public function.
He said the governor had expressed his condolences to the bereaved family, and that the state government had not visited the family because the trigger-hungry policeman had not said why he shot and killed his colleague.
'All that we are hearing is speculations,' he said, pointing out that the suspect, who was admitted at the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia, was incoherent and had not volunteered any statement to the police.
