Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko on Thursday dissolved his cabinet. The Governor in dissolving the Council made up of 22 Commissioners and 4 Special Advisers thanked them for having helped him to pilot the affairs of the State in the last two years. Specifically, Mimiko who summoned the Commissioners and Advisers to an emergency Executive Council meeting at the State Executive Council Chamber thanked them for having contributed their quota towards the development of the State in the last two years and a few months.

A release issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Kolawole Olabisi quoted Dr Mimiko as saying to the aides:

It is time for us to sit back, take stock and give an account of where we are and how to make progress. We need to take this decision which is a way of general audit and re-construction. This is an exercise that any organisation must do from time to time in order to re-energise and move forward.

I want to assure you all that this exercise is not to scare anybody and very soon, we shall reconstitute the State Executive Council.

ÃŒ want to thank you all for what you have done for our State, I want to appreciate you for your support all these while and together, we have been able to deliver on our promises for the people of Ondo State; we have tried our possible best and I thank you most sincerely,` Mimiko stated.

The Governor subsequently directed them to immediately hand over to the Permanent Secretaries in their respective Ministries.
